Inscripción

Os animamos a inscribiros en la Reunión. No habrá una cuota de inscripción, pero este proceso nos permitirá apreciar el interés y participación de la comunidad en la Reunión con este nuevo formato y, a la vez, emitir certificados de asistencia a aquellos que lo soliciten.

Fechas importantes

8 de mayo: Circular 1.0, anuncio del programa de la Reunión virtual. Inscripciones abiertas (sin cuota ni fecha límite).
1 de junio: Circular 2.0, se abre el plazo para envío de comunicaciones.
5 de julio: Cierre del plazo de envío de comunicaciones.
7 de julio: Circular 3.0, anuncio de los detalles de sistemas de streaming
13-15 de julio: XIV.0 Reunión Científica (virtual) de la SEA

Formato de las sesiones científicas

Hitos y Retos (HR, Milestones and Challenges). Hemos programado nueve charlas plenarias cortas sobre temas científicos de actualidad e interés para nuestra comunidad. Los ponentes han aceptado el reto de sintetizar en un breve periodo de tiempo los hitos alcanzados y los desafíos que se plantean en su línea de investigación para los próximos años. Las ponencias serán de 15 minutos, a las que seguirán cinco minutos de comentarios y respuestas a las preguntas que se habrán realizado a través del chat. Algunas de estas ponencias se plantean como un debate abierto entre dos expertos en el campo.

Resumen de Contribuciones (RC, Contributions Overview). Las contribuciones están accesibles en seis apartados, correspondientes a las áreas: GC (Galaxias y Cosmología), VL (Vía Láctea y sus componentes), CP (Ciencias Planetarias), FS (Física Solar), IS (Instrumentación y Supercomputación y ED (Educación y Divulgación). Durante la Reunión virtual se celebrarán seis sesiones de 40 minutos, una por cada área. Los coordinadores de cada sesión describirán de forma general los trabajos presentados, y a continuación se abrirán los micrófonos y el chat de la plataforma para una discusión abierta con los autores y asistentes.

Presentation of the virtual Meeting XIV.0. We offer you a new scientific and social programme different in many aspects to that planned for the face-to-face meeting. It has been worked out in a joint effort of the Scientific Committee and the SEA Board. This virtual gathering -that we hope will be of interest to everyone- has the main goal of reflecting, in a dynamic and active way, the present and future of several scientific projects in which the community will be deeply involved during the next decade. 

The Meeting focuses in different aspects: the purely scientific part contains nine short talks, called “Milestones and Challenges” (HR in the Spanish acronym), six sessions “Contributions’ Overview” (RC) and the talks by the young doctors awarded with the SEA prizes; the programme also contains presentations by several SEA commissions and working groups, a round table on scientific policy, a session devoted to outreach, and group meetings. All the sessions will be open and broadcasted live by streaming. As it is customary in our face-to-face meetings, we will offer two public outreach talks that will be broadcasted live through the SEA YouTube channel.

We are conscious that many scientific projects, currently under development, are not explicitly represented in the programme. We hope to offer them room in the next months, either in a forum similar to the one we are opening now, or in our next face-to-face meeting in La Laguna. 

Registration

We encourage you to register, and although there will be no registration fee, that process will allow us to gauge the interest and participation of the community at large in this new-format Meeting; in addition, this will allow us to issue certificates of attendance to those who would require one.

Format of the scientific sessions

Milestones and Challenges (HR talks). We have included in the programme nine short plenary talks focused on hot topics of interest to the community. The speakers have agreed to summarize in a very short time span the milestones reached in each field and the challenges posed in the next few years. The talks will last 15 minutes, followed by a 5-minute question-and-answer discussion. Some of the talks are planned to be given by two experts in the field to confront and complement their corresponding views.

Contributions Overview (RC sessions). The contributions are accessible in six folders, corresponding to the areas (acronyms from their Spanish denominations): GC (Galaxies and Cosmology), VL (The Milky Way and its components), CP (Planetary Sciences), FS (Solar Physics), IS (Instrumentation and Supercomputation), and ED (Teaching and Outreach). During the virtual Meeting, six 40-minute sessions will be held, one per area. The coordinators of each session will describe the general contents of the works submitted, followed by an open discussion with the authors and attendees via chat or with open microphones.
