Descripción/Description:

The "Centro de Estudios de Física del Cosmos de Aragón" (CEFCA) invites applications for a postdoctoral position starting as soon as possible. The position, with a duration of at least 2 years, is conceived within the framework of the Complementary Plans (Planes Complementarios) Programme 2022-2025 Astrophysics and High Energy Physics: “Tecnologías avanzadas para la exploración del universo y sus componentes”; an action of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR-C17.I1).

The applicant will conduct research related with the estimation and analysis of the spatially-resolved star-formation main sequence at the nearby Universe using the J-PLUS DR3, covering more than 3000 deg² with 12 optical filters. The J-PLUS data are sensitive to H-α emission at d < 75 Mpc, providing unbiased estimates of the star formation rate and the local main sequence. The one arcsecond spatial resolution of J-PLUS allows the study of the resolved star-formation main sequence (rSFMS) and the estimation of star-formation radial profiles, complementing integral field unit surveys such as CALIFA, MaNGA, SAMI or WEAVE. The successful candidate will use the J-PLUS DR3 data to derive the rSFMS and star-formation gradients for around 1000 galaxies at d < 75 Mpc, and analyze their dependence on stellar mass and morphology. The study of the low surface brightness structures at the outskirts of the nearests galaxies will be also explored, looking for low levels of star formation and complementing the multilter information with the deeper JEDIS-g and Euclid images. Finally, the spatially-resolved star formation properties of the nearby galaxies in the available J-PAS data will be studied.
