The Centro de Astronomía (CITEVA) at Universidad de Antofagasta in Chile is seeking enthusiastic young postdoctoral researchers to carry out cutting-edge research on (sub)stellar formation, galaxy evolution, kinematics, and dynamics, Galactic structure, stellar populations, star clusters, variable stars, planetary sciences, and light pollution and its impact on astronomy.

We prefer candidates with a team spirit, interested in building strong collaborations with the Chilean and international community. To support their research, successful applicants will not only have access to the 10% Chilean time but also to major surveys in which CITEVA is involved, such as SDSS-V, LSST, VVV, VVV-X, Gaia, MINDSTEp, and pre-SKA surveys.

CITEVA is based in Antofagasta, a large coastal city in Northern Chile, on the edge of the spectacular Atacama desert, where ALMA and VLT are located, and where the ELT is being built. CITEVA is the premier professional group in Astrophysics in Northern Chile.
