Descripción/Description:

The "Donostia International Physics Center" (DIPC), located in Donostia/San Sebastian, Spain, is accepting applications for a postdoctoral position in galaxy formation.  Applicants with expertise in modelling the formation and evolution of galaxies, and/or in analyses of data from large surveys, are particularly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will join the group of Dr. Silvia Bonoli, which primarily focuses on the theoretical study of the formation and evolution of supermassive black holes, their host galaxies and the observational analysis of quasars. The group is part of the new cosmology line at the DIPC, which has broad expertise in numerical simulations of structure formation (dark matter/hydrodynamical/semi-analytical) and cosmological galaxy surveys. The group is involved in the J-PAS and the WEAVE-QSO surveys, Euclid, and the LISA mission.

The successful candidate is welcome to start the appointment as soon as possible, and preferably no later than September 2020.  The duration of the position is 2 years, with the possibility of an extension to a third year. The position includes travel funds and the opportunity of co-supervising PhD and master students.

Interested candidates please send a CV (including publication list) and a brief statement of interests and goals (maximum 3 pages) via e-mail to silvia.bonoli@dipc.org (Subject: "Postdoc 2019").

Additionally, the candidate should arrange for 3 reference letters to be sent to the same e-mail address.

For full consideration, applications should be received by November 30th, 2019.
