Descripción/Description:

Applications are invited for one *Postdoctoral position* in the field of X-ray transients and time domain studies in the High-Energy astrophysics group of MPE in Garching.

The appointment will be for 2 years, with the possibility of extension to 3 years. Applicants must have Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy or Astrophysics, or expect to obtain their Ph.D. in the near future.

The successful applicant is expected to perform X-ray time domain studies, including, but not limited to, transients detected in the SRG/eROSITA all-sky survey (to be started in 2019). The applicant shall also coordinate the scientific activities in the High-Energy Group in preparation for the Chinese Einstein Probe mission.

Experience relevant to the research areas of the MPE High-Energy group is essential. Familiarity with X-ray transient time domain studies and/or interpretation would be desirable.
