Descripción/Description:

The High Energy Physics Group (Grupo de Altas Energías - GAE) at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) is seeking outstanding candidates to apply for the Juan de la Cierva and Ramon y Cajal  highly competitive Spanish fellowship programs. The specifics for each of the programs follow:

The GAE-UCM has an ample trajectory in the fields of experimental astroparticle physics and high energy astrophysics, with scientific interests ranging from the study of active galactic nuclei, pulsars to dark matter searches and unidentified gamma-ray sources. The group participates in the ground-based gamma-ray facilities CTA and MAGIC and collaborates in the space-based Fermi - Large Area Telescope. The successful candidate is expected to join and develop most of her/his work within these international collaborations.

For the Juan de la Cierva - Formación program, GAE-UCM must act as host, and thus it will perform an internal selection. Therefore, if you are interested, please send us at info@gae.ucm.es a cover letter and a CV (including the contact details for at least one referee), with  deadline January 25th, 2022. It is worth noting that this year’s call offers twice the number of contracts of  last year´s and the existence of previous similar calls in Spain make this one particularly attractive.

The GAE-UCM is part of IPARCOS (Institute of Particle Physics and the Cosmos), a leading institute of the Complutense University, with activities related to Particle and Nuclear Physics, Astrophysics, and Instrumentation.  If you are interested in applying to these calls in a related area, you may find a list of research groups at  https://www.ucm.es/iparcos/about.
