The “Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT)” offers a 4-year PhD position through the Spanish FPI program to work on topics within the project “Scientific exploitation of Euclid data: Unveiling the rise of complexity in the Universe (EUCLID-SEED)” PID2022-141915NB-C22, PIs: A. Díaz-Sánchez and A. Pérez-Garrido, in coordination with the “Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC)”

The PhD student will address topics related to the science of the Euclid Consortium, mainly clusters and protoclusters of galaxies, gravitational lensed galaxies and/or ultra-cool dwarfs. The student will be able to work in national and international centers within the Euclid Consortium, making observations with telescopes, from optical to millimeter bands.

Requirements: Being in position to be enrolled or admitted to a doctoral programe for the academic year 2023/2024 on the date on which the contract is formalized, 1 of January 2024 (that is, having a Masters degree or being graduated with at less 300 ECTS).

Duration: The contract will run for 4 years.

Remuneration: The gross annual salary will be ~ 22,000 €.
