Descripción/Description:

IAA-CSIC is seeking a Doctor in Astrophysics with extensive experience in scientific work with integral field spectroscopic data and extensive experience in the study of low metallicity dwarf galaxies.

Main tasks will include:
(a) Gathering of integral field spectroscopy of galaxies with star formation and extreme emission lines with class 4-10m telescopes: exploitation of time guaranteed with the MEGARA spectrograph in GTC10.4m, together with MUSE VLT, PPAK Calar Alto.
(b) Performing deep searches of galaxies with star formation and extreme emission lines: exploitation of data from the J-PAS project and other available spectrophotometric surveys. Building of samples for the detection of galaxies with bright HeII emission lines. Obtaining their spectral energy distributions.
(c) Measurement of 2D emission line fluxes in low metallicity, extreme dwarf galaxies. Obtentionf of their cartography and ionization structure. Determination of their physical properties, chemical composition and photoionization balance.
(d) Scientific leadership, promoting synergies with other lines of research and groups of the IAA with similar interests.
(e) Promoting the preparation of ERC proposals and other national or international funding agencies.
(f) Co-supervision of a PhD student along with permanent members of the IAA.

The contract is for 3 years and can be extended for one more year.
