IAA-CSIC offers an engineer contract in the framework of the Project “Severo Ochoa”. Candidates are expected to carry out their activity in the research line of Enhanced Science infrastructure and research capabilities, and in particular in the development of a prototype SKA Regional Centre.

Tasks: 

The candidate will contribute to the development of a SKA Regional Centre prototype (protoSRC) at the IAA-CSIC, by developing and integrating services based on scientific tools (mainly astronomical software) as well as Open Science tools, for which it will be neccesary to apply knowledge in computational science astronomy and multimedia technologies. This way will contribute to the integration of the protoSRC into the international network of protoSRC. In particular, the candidate is expected to contribute to the integration of open source software, mainly in Python language. The tasks are:

- Integration of multiwavelength astronomical analysis tools, collaborative tools, Artificial Intelligence, multimedia technology tools, and implementation of catalogue access services into the protoSRC.
- Training and dissemination actions in English to use the protoSRC services (e.g. storage/computing services, VO services).
- Contribute to the definition and implementation of the technical interfaces required for integration into the protoSRC network.
